WHO AM I?

About Weronika Kacperski
and zen minimalism in her oriental art inspired paintings

Welcome to my world of art as a painter trapped in the rhythm and breath of ideas, where impressionist watercolours inspired by Japan combine with the search for beauty in everyone and everything to create a harmonious blend of emotion and expression. I draw inspiration from traditional oriental art, Asia's rich cultural heritage and people who emphasise kindness and compassion in their set of values. All these factors drive my minimalist approach to art, allowing me to express my sensibility. My work is an ongoing exploration of the flow of energy, seeking to capture the essence of the human experience of nature that resonates with the soul.

My first exhibition took place in a Cultural Centre in one of Warsaw's districts. I was only four years old at the time! I have to rely on my parents' narratives for the whole story, as I personally have no recollection of the event, except that they always claimed I was an 'artist', although this was probably true with regard to other aspects of my creative childhood... :-) In any case, my vernissage was widely echoed and vividly commented on in the local courtyards of the capital, and I gained a garland of admirers. Doesn't that sound like a dream start to an artistic career?

I studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, in a number of private studios in Poland, Spain, Malta and France; later with masters such as Michelle Tully, Timothy Stotz, Toby Hall or Eudes Correia. In 2007 I travelled to Japan at the invitation of Rafael Amargo and since then my love for the Land of the Sakura has turned into a fascination.

Join me on my journey into the world of art, where every brushstroke reflects the state of my heart and mind, searching for a path leading to a deeper understanding, feeling and above all, appreciation for life. When I paint, I want to be present in my paintings to remain in them even when I am gone. I want the viewer of my art to feel both my breath and the breath of the brush, so that they can feel both those breaths at once.
